The "Introduction to Whole Raw Food" workshop on November 13 brought together an amazing group of people! We covered a wide array of topics including the lastest health epidemics related to food, information on plant-based nutrition, free radicals, antioxidants, vitamins E, C, zinc, iron, enzymes, the effect of heat on nutrients, alkaline vs acidity in the body, and essential fatty acids. We wrapped up the workshop with a trip to the kitchen where we created and sampled two very healthy, yet very delicious smoothies that incorporated much of what we discussed in the workshop.
Based on participant feedback, we will definitely be providing a series of workshops that build from this initial, introductory one. The series will include additional information on the science of raw food, as well as the creation of a meal. Participants always recieve the notes from each workshop, as well as the recipes for the drinks and meals that are prepared.
